Our Texas Adult Driver Education (A-DE) 6-Hours Permit course is a State of Texas-Approved Driver Education course. Approved by the Texas Department of Public Safety and meets the state driver education requirement for adults applying for a Texas learner permit. The course covers essential traffic laws, safe driving practices, and responsible decision-making to prepare students for safe and confident driving.
Who This Course Is For
First-time drivers who are applying for Texas driver License
Required for age 18-24 applying for a Texas learner permit
Optional for Adults ages 25 & Up applying for a Texas learner permit

Gather the below Required Documents and bring them with you to your DPS appointment in order to obtain your learner license:
Certified Birth Certificate (Note: Foreign birth certificates are not accepted. Acceptable alternatives include a resident alien card, passport with valid visa, Texas ID, or U.S. citizenship documents.)
Original Social Security Card (Not required for certain non-immigrant statuses.)
Two Proofs of Texas Residency (Examples: Utility bill, bank statement, or credit card statement. These may be in the parent or legal guardian’s name.)
VOE (Verification of Enrollment) (Issued by the high school office; valid for 30 days from the date of issuance.)
A-DE 1317 Certificate (Provided by the driving school.)
Application Fee (Payable at the DPS office Cash, Check or Credit Card.)
