DFW Driving School is a Texas Department of Public Safety(DPS) Authorized entity to administer Road Test for both Teens (Age 16-18) and Adults (Age 18 & up). Review the Road Test documents requirements. Once you have all the documents, click on Schedule Road Test Now at the bottom of the page:

Students (age 16-24) completed Teens Program:

Eligibility/Documents Requirements:

  • (1) Age must be 16-24 years
  • (2) A valid/Unexpired Texas learner license (Must had it for a minimum of six months – Check Date on the Back of your Learners Permit)
  • (3) Evidence of Completion of Drivers Ed (24 HRS class + 14 HRS of behind-the-wheel training):Obtain DE-964 Certificate from the Driving School you have completed the course
  • (4) Completed Impact Texas Teen Driver Program (ITTD) offered online. Printed certificate required on the day of the Road Test.
  • (5) Completed 30 Hours Parent Driving Log. Click Here to print the 30 hours log.
  • 6) Verification of Enrollment – Obtained from High School  – Valid for 30 Days only
Students(age 18 & up) obtained Learner License via 6 Hrs Permit Class or taken the Permit Test at the DPS
Eligibility/Documents Requirements:

  • (1) Must have a valid learner license (Learners Permit).
  • (2) Completed Impact Texas Adult Driver Program (ITAD) offered online. Printout of the completion certificate required on the day of the Road Test.
  • (3) Form 1317 (Adults Permit Class Completion Certificate) Required for student age 18-25 only .

 

 

 

 

COST of Driving Test: $75.00

    • 1 attempt included (After that $45 for each extra attempt)
    • $35.00 if renting Driving School vehicle for the road test

 

$35.00 Administrative Fee will be charged if:

  • Reschedule due to non-compliance of the documentation requirements
  • Reschedule due to non compliance of the vehicle requirements.
  • Reschedule due to not arriving in time for the test.
  • Cancelling/Rescheduling the Road Test.

REFUND POLICY – The school retain Administrative Fee: and, refund the remainder of the fee to the student. Vehicle Rental fee is non refundable. Refund processing may take up to 15 business days.

 

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proof of valid, unexpired automobile liability insurance (must display vehicle info on insurance card).
  • Valid registration sticker
  • Front and Back license plates (temporary plates are acceptable as long as have valid date)
  • Working signal lights and brake lights (including center brake light)
  • Working Horn

 

Once all the above requirements are completed, the student may take the DPS Road Test at DFW. After successfully passing the Road Test, all necessary documents will be provided in a sealed envelope. This envelope must be submitted to the DPS to obtain the final Driver License.

US-CITIZENS: DFW Driving School is approved by the DPS to submit your Road Test documents through the DPS Online Portal. No appointment or Trip to the DPS is required.

NON–U.S. CITIZENS:
You are required to schedule an appointment with the DPS to convert your Learner’s Permit into a Driver License. Please take the sealed envelope provided by DFW Driving School to your DPS appointment.
